School of Commons, a project by Timelab. Developed in 2018 as a method to bring people together, discuss about commons, share knowledge and create open ended tools for participation.

The memory of School of Commons exists out of a lot of practical experience. We learned by doing. Gathered information, experience an learning lessons from projects such as NEST, temporary use of the old library of the city of Ghent, Niets Is Verloren festival, RSL op Post, or the makerlab of Timelab (the first makerlab in Belgium). In all these project, we put the people and the process first. Above the desired end result. Focusing on the process helped us to create a group of motivated, active people who were willing to take up responsibility.
